Kannappa Box Office: Manchu Vishnu’s Film Collects Rs 16.19 Crore in Two Days


The box office collections of Manchu Vishnu’s latest release Kannappa have been very encouraging and positive. The historical folklore opened to a good review on Friday and set the cash registers ringing. For the first two days Kannappa collected Rs 16.19 crore (net) in India. The film’s first day (Friday) collections were Rs 9.35 crore while the second day (Saturday) registered Rs 6.84 crore (net). This is so far the highest in Vishnu Manchu’s career.

Vishnu expresses gratitude

Vishnu Manchu expressed gratitude to the audiences for making Kannappa a success. Speaking to the media, the actor described the film’s success as teamwork. “We have been getting an overwhelming response, and all credit goes to the entire team,” said Vishnu, adding that the film proved audiences’ always welcome fresh content. “Till Saturday, 15 lakh people have watched the film, and the numbers are expected to grow. But more than the numbers, I am so glad that Kannappa’s story is reaching multifold. I want to dedicate the film to all my father’s fans,” Vishnu adds.

No one was ready to do a film like Kannappa with me: Vishnu

Kannappa is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh who had earlier made the epic Mahabharata soap opera. Earlier, many expressed apprehensions that can a debutant director bring out a rooted story. Vishnu stated, “No one from Tollywood was ready to do a film like Kannappa with me if I narrated the script. But I was fascinated with the way he narrated Mahabharata.”

Ram Gopal Varma appreciated Kannappa

Very few people know that Ram Gopal Varma and Vishnu share a great bond. While the director heaped praises on Vishnu and Kannappa, RGV’s mother too called the actor and appreciated him. “I was surprised when she discussed technical aspects in certain scenes. I was so amazed at how she observed the film,” said Vishnu.
