She recalled during the episode, “I had gotten this part that they wanted me to basically divorce my parents so that I could work as an adult.”
She shared that mom Goldie refused to let that happen but that she landed her first role shortly after without having to separate herself from her parents.
“My mom was like, ‘No, never happening.’ But then I got the Party of Five and it was so great,” Kate revealed on the podcast. She said that she landed the role on the teen drama as a 16-year-old who had to get her mom’s permission to skip school and film her scenes.
“It was like two days of shooting and I missed two days of school and my mom actually allowed me to do it,” Kate shared during the interview.
